Founded by Duncan Cox and Chris McCabe and built on a passion of creating places that meet the beauty of our local coastal environment with a timeless but functional aesthetic.
The practice is built around the theme of Design. Collaborate. Marvel., not just a play on the DCM acronym built from the combination of the founder’s names, but also the principle of the way we engage with our clients, and our industry partners, to deliver buildings that are revered by not just their owners but anyone passing by.
We journey with our clients from start to finish of the design process, make suitable introductions to builders, interior designers, engineers and other consultants to make the ride a little easier.

DCM Building Design is located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. We are a small but growing team of professional, dedicated and passionate people that work cohesively to ensure our clients get a premium personal design service that delivers on their dreams, visions and importantly budget.
Our aim is to not only deliver our award-winning brand of design but also to bring excitement and enjoyment to the collaborative process with our clients. We do this through clear process, great communication and excellent service. Our growth and success has been built on great design combined with great service.
We offer a flexible work environment from our new loft-style office in Currimundi. The office environment is relaxed, with plenty of natural light and a jovial ambiance. The team work hard but enjoy each other’s company and a collaborative approach to each project. Oh and we have an office dog who hangs out with us occasionally – a very relaxed team member!
To be successful at DCM you need to be friendly with a positive mindset, have high standards for your work, love the design process and be willing to learn, share and grow with the company. A can-do attitude with a desire to nail the brief with an added dash of wow will see you succeed here.
The Directors share a strong determination to assist their designers to develop and hone their skills so they can evolve in their career ambitions – no sitting idle in your skillset here. If you ask the team at DCM what they enjoy about working here they’ll tell you they love the flexibility, the working relationships and the caliber of projects they get to work on at DCM, and of course the Sunshine Coast location!
